Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God
Matthew 5:8
In tears I saw you sinking,
I watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
you fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage.
Your spirit did not bend,
and still you kept on fighting until the very end.
God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered “come to me”.
So when I saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain.
I could not wish you back
to suffer that again.
Of all the little boys and girls
In all the world around
This one boy was very special
In every way we found
No metals won, nor speeches given
In the life he had to live
But this child‘s gift was manifest
In the love he had to give
Prideful, angry, sad or wanting
He loved you all the same
And greeted with a gentle voice
Was always glad you came
I‘d like to think he couldn‘t speak
Because the Love that he posessed
Was so Divine and pure
That words could not express
You looked into his little eyes
And very simply knew
That when he made his precious sound
He was saying “I love you”
Love was all he had to give
And all that he‘d recieved
By parents who Loved him more than life
And in every way believed
That their son was beautiful and perfect
In every way conceived
It was love that made him smile
Laugh, giggle, and play
And love that kept him safe at night
Where in his bed he‘d lay
It kept him safe in comfort
Each and every day
Until the Angel of the lord came down
And carried him away
